I am so disappointed. My Charge 5, which is only 3 years old has just completely died. I tried the reboot steps several times. Tried charging overnight, just absolutely nothing. I’ve used Fitbits for about 10 years and like so many features about them. But, unless I can get this one working, may need to switch. Anyone have any other steps to take?

My Charge 5 will be 3 years old in October, and it died a few days ago. It went from working fine to having an unresponsive black screen. The battery was not depleted but I plugged in the charger anyway. Nothing showed on the screen, but I saw a brief red light flash on the back. Hoping that it was only mostly dead, I let it charge for more than an hour.
None of the reset methods worked, but each time I press the button on the charger, I do feel a vibration on the device. But no lights on the front or back. Calling it dead-dead.
From what I have read, this model only lasts a couple of years, so I guess I got my money's worth. I might see about charging my old Flex, just to track steps, but I won't be buying another Fitbit.

Frustrated and disappointed with these Fitbit devices. Although I like the style and the bands, this is the third and last chance I'm giving this company. Had a Versa watch, which needed to be replaced. An original Fitbit and now the Charge 5 which I bought specifically to track health concerns and swimming. Have spent hours troubleshooting all of them with customer service over the years.
So, the Charge 5 is advertised as "tracks swimming", but really it only tracks time, not laps which is what most swimmers need.
Second, started swimming this month of July in a pool, and noticed the tracker having problems stopping when I hard tapped it to unlock it. Then yesterday, the thing went totally black while swimming. I tried all the trouble shooting, like connecting it to the adapter and pressing the button on the adapter. It gave the fitbit logo for a bit, then showed the time when it stopped, then it completely went black. It was charged to 99% that very morning, so that wasn't it.
Lastly, the tracker is just over a year old....wow.
Can someone offer advice or tips to revive it? I don't just want a "discount" to buy another faulty device. Sorry but this is my experience.
Thank you.
