Charge 5 won't show the correct time

The time on my Charge 5 is behind by around 10 mins. I’ve tried restarting but still not correct. Any thoughts on how to fix?

Hi there, @DeeDavis94. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out.

According to your post, it seems like your Charge 5 is not syncing. With that being said, please try the following steps:

  • Unpair your Charge 5 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Charge 5.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Charge 5.
  • Once your Charge 5 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Once you manage to sync your Charge 5, the time should be corrected. Keep in mind that your Fitbit device uses the time of the device you're syncing with.

Hello & welcome @DeeDavis94

Well that's rather strange considering that your Fitbit is supposed to be getting the time from the device it's synced to.

Another option to try is turning off the Automatic Time Zone in the Fitbit app and turning it back on to see if that gets your Fitbit back to the correct time:

  • On the Today page in the Fitbit app, tap your picture/icon in the upper left to open the Account page
  • Tap on App Settings (lower portion of the page)
  • If Automatic Time Zone isn't selected, turn it on & do a sync. That should fix the time.
  • If Automatic Time Zone is selected, turn it off & do a sync.
  • Repeat the above steps to turn the Automatic Time Zone back on & do a sync.

Hopefully, this will get your Charge 5 showing the correct time.
