Charge 5 wont sync with phone when Backpacking

While I was Backpacking in a remote area with no Cell service, my Charge 5 would not sync to the fitbit app on my phone. I had Bluetooth on and GPS enabled. 

Is a internet connection always required for full sync of data?

Hello @JRhiking and welcome to the Community.  Yes.  Your Charge 5 communicates with your phone by Bluetooth, but the data syncs with the Fitbit servers and isn't stored on your phone.  You need an internet connection to sync your data with your Fitbit account.

If you are hiking and camping for days, you should know that your Charge 5 stores seven days of detailed data and 30 days of basic data.
