My charge 5 it’s now not been able to hold a charge since July 24, 2022.
Here is the timeline of actions taken:
July 25, chat with support. Was told that if update will be posted to fix this issue.
July 26, update was pushed out and I updated my charge 5. Still could not hold charge.
July 27, called support. Restart the device and was told that that will fix it. Asked for them to replace malfunctioning watch. Request was denied as this restart would fix but. Still would not hold a charge.
July 29, chat with support. I was told there’s nothing more that I could do an that they were aware of this issue and a fix will be provided soon. Still my watch would not hold a charge. I asked for a replacement of the watch as it is it still under warranty. I was denied this request, as it will be fixed. Still doesn’t hold a charge.
Since then I try to connect via chat or call again and could not as these options vanished from my support options. My watch is still not fixed and today is August 11. My watch still doesn’t hold a charge. It would be great to be able to connect with support again. Any advice on how I should proceed?

If you have access to another device, try that. Mine overheated while charging on June 26, (60 days after purchase) 2022. Talked twice to support and Sent in to be replaced. After contacting support 4 more times I received a replacement on July 25, 4 weeks later. Guess what my replacement is not holding a charge after 16 days. Over headed last night. I cleaned the charger and device this afternoon. Took an hour to charge to 87%. As soon as I put it on the charge went to 1%. Right now trying to charge again. I am very disappointed.

Same thing I’m going through right now. I have try all the process. It is having trouble charging my Fitbit for some reason. When I charged my Fitbit it shows not charging. I figured the back is dirty or dusty so I clean it. But it end the same result. Next I try to reset my Fitbit, it shows the charging picture, but it’s not really charging the battery on my Fitbit. Basically the battery on the Fitbit is decreasing or staying on one 8% like no process is made. Also, I am using the wall to charge my Fitbit. I look on online the Fitbit reason to see what else I can do, but there was no progress in any of them. What should I even do?

It sounds like this device is another victim of the firmware update. For further information read the thread that announces the update which has hundreds of replies.
