Charge5 screen wake not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have checked DND  & it’s off & the Sleep mode is off. The screen wake is Auto (I have switched to manual & back no difference). The screen is black  when I turn my wrist. I have to tap very firmly for illumination. This is virtually new but hasn’t been used for a while. It’s taken an hour of my life & I’m still stuck..My charge 4 was so easy to use except it just died. Any ideas?

My charge 5 was working during my workout, then, when I got home the screen is black. No auto turn on, tap not waking it up.

Hopefully someone will have a solution. In the meantime I’ll keep searching for a fix.

UPDATE FYI 11/24/22

After trying restart via charging cord, it finally did restart. 1st try I got the Fitbit logo & it just stayed on, seemed like forever, but probably about an hour - still unresponsive though. After trying about 10 times it finally came back on (like just a few minutes ago).

Todays info was recorded until it went black, so lost many hours of tracking.  Good luck.

PS - the reset button is on the charger cord where it plugs into the adaptor. Look for a button on the side. Press it like 3 times, about a second each press.  Like I mentioned, it took about 10 try’s to have it come back on.

UPDATE 11/28/22

Well you guys, I still have a black screen. My Fitbit Charge 5 is officially dead. I sure hope the problem is fixed with all new Charge 5 devices being purchased now because mine was less then 6 months old.  I really liked this tracker & Fitbit help couldn’t help me get it going after trying a couple of things, including changing the clock face.  Good luck & this will be my last reply here.

Sorry to hear that. I don’t know what to suggest. I’m knew to Change 5. Thank you for the rebooting options.

I managed to fix my problem by charging  fully & rebooting. So far so good everything works just took so long to figure it out.

Re your issue:

I think you posted your problem under my heading which is why others might not be responding. Ideally perhaps you should have started a separate topic or posted under a more closely related problem. Maybe try one time last time on a separate anew post? Have you tried calling & St peaking to Fitbit support ? Good luck.
