I bought the Charge 5 from AMAZON - the largest retailer in the freakin world - in August 2023.  Yesterday - May 7, 2024 - 9 months later - the watch DIED - I spent half the day today trying to get it going again with customer support (after searching the community forums) - after doing everything they said they just emailed me and said - "Because your product was purchased through an unauthorized reseller, it’s not covered by our warranty. For the details of our return policy"   WTF?  How is AMAZON not an authorized seller?  And how are we supposed to know that?  So I spent $160 for a piece of crap.  Guess I should have invested in an Apple watch when the Fitbit before this one died prematurely.   ***  I am LIVID.

Hi @WMQueenie  Amazon is huge, but it also allows for second hand items to be sold, which is the problem. Only an authorized retailer product has the warranty, which you found out. Only sold and shipped by Amazon sales are from authorized retailers. Anyway, if you paid by credit card, see if you can get help from the banking institution. Often they have insurance on our items and will cover a replacement should something happen. It's been posted about on these forums many times and might be worth your time to check it out.
