Today I completed a workout and went to sync my Charge 5 with my phone. The app said sync was complete, but it zeroed out all my data recorded from the day. My activity minutes and steps were erased from both my watch and the app (everything now shows zero.) And there is no sleep data recorded - though I wore my watch to bed.
Already tried:
updating fitbit app
restarting watch
disconnecting and reconnecting watch to app

I would have suggested a second sync after waiting about 10 minutes.
You could have tried setting up the tracker as a replacement device, without removing the tracker. However removing the tracker, and setting it up as a fresh new device, should have erased any data that was on the watch, IE: everything that may have been on the watch before removing.
