Hi @ogaroth  there isn't any information on the sales site and no user manual listed, so I'd think the charger is similar to current one. USB-C is for the end that goes into the actual device and the regular USB end that goes into a computer wouldn't make any difference. Fitbit will let us know more as they need time to get the manual up online.

Actually if you have a computer like mine USB-C is the end that goes into the computer and "regular" USB is a legacy connector that requires the use of a dongle. Though if you have a computer like mine you probably also have a collection of dongles for attaching legacy devices 😉.

(My money would be on it being a USB-A cable).

To be honest @Decoherence I wonder how much longer people will use personal computers!

For the Charge 5 to support a usb-c connection. I'll assume that you are asking for the Charge 5 to accept a usb-c cable.

This will not be the case, in that there is simply not enough room in the Charge 5 to add this support.

I can not imagine having a USB C port on the tracker. It would quickly become clogged with dirt.

For some of us they are far more use than a phone or tablet, though for those who basically just consume media prepared by others you have a point.

I have the same question.  However I am asking about USB-C for the power end and the fitbit end going into the device.  I have upgraded a lot of my connections to USB C, and USB A does not work in them.  Is there a fitbit Charge 5 charging cable that has USB C instead of USB  A?

I think they mean USB C instead of the USB A connection has comes with the Charge 5.

@Felix42   To clarify, the end of the cable that attaches to the Charge 5 is magnetic and attaches with those magnets to the back of the device.  The power source end is USB-A.  My computer has both USB-A and USB-C ports.  There is no Fitbit cable that can attach to your USB-C port.  I use one of the USB-A charging boxes from my phone in a wall socket.

I think many people instinctively think of USB-C as the device end, not the power source end.  Fitbit caused some confusion right before the Luxe was released.  Photos showed a USB-C connection to the power source.  Not in real life.  It’s just like every other Fitbit charging cable.

 I hope this helps.

The advantage of a USB C source is that a USB C to C cable is needed. With this, the processor in the charging source, wall wort or PC, talks with the device being charged and the C to C cable can handle 3+ times the current.
