Hello all. I have a quick question about the 2 year extended warranty; is it available for purchase at a later date from the purchase of the device? In other words, can I purchase a device today, and then, say 11 months from now prior to the 1 year warranty expiring, purchase an extended 2 year warranty?
I ask because my charge 5 recently gave me the black screen of death but was beyond the 1 year warranty (18 months). Fitbit customer service was kind enough to offer a discount on the purchase of a new device but I was considering whether the extended warranty would be worthwhile. It would be nice to be able to extend the warranty at a later date because of the 1 year warranty being standard in the US.
I am happy I got so much life from mine compared to others on the forums but I do hope they are working to correct this issue as it seems to be fairly common.

Hi @Marvin25 the extended warranty has to be purchased within 30 days of the original purchase of your Fitbit. You can buy it directly from Square Trade, which handles it. The reason for that time frame is probably to make sure people purchase it before there is a problem.

Thank you @Odyssey13 for the reply. That makes sense. It would be nice if the 2 years would be tacked on to the standard 1 year warranty but I understand a 3 year warranty would seem like a lifetime for tech like this.
