I have had my new device for approx 3 months. The GPS has never worked properly. I have updated, toggled blue tooth, changed gps settings, etc etc etc. I’ve contacted customer service. They couldn’t help me and escalated my case. I received an email stating Fitbit was working on a resolution, if the issue continues reply to the email. So I did, and I got the same sys gen email back. If I use the app for GPS it is not correct nor is the device. So I use the device and the app when I run, the result is an inaccurate distance and time with a HR. This was supposed to be an upgrade from my previous device. All I received is a huge hassle with a color screen. The most important feature in a fitness “tracker” is it’s ability to track. It is extremely frustrating to pay for premium service I am not receiving.
help!

Hi, @JR.HU, welcome to the community, may I offer you a bit of light reading, I apologise if you have already seen it. How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device? explains some of the issues you may come across when using GPS. I would add you should check out the Fitbit app in your app tray and make sure any battery-saving function is disabled for the Fitbit app and all permissions are granted, while you are there clear the cache.
I hope this is helpful but please post here again if you are still stuck.
Cheers

Thank you for the response, I did what you suggested. I also restarted the device and toggled gps. Location is set to always allow, and gps has been set to all 3 settings. Internal, dynamic, etc. I even loosened on my arm and took it off of my arm. Still it won’t connect. Most of these I have gone through twice with support to no avail.
any other suggestions?

Hi, @JR.HU, thanks for the update. Frankly, the advice you have received should have resulted in some improvement to your GPS issue. You do not mention the make or model of mobile phone you are using Fitbit Supported Devices explains some issues and note the minimum OS you must be running for smooth operation.
Is it possible you are having Bluetooth problems? try turning off other Bluetooth devices in your vicinity, particularly older ones. Are you wearing a long-sleeved top? is it possible the fabric is metallised?
Let us know.
Cheers

iPhone mini. 15.6. No long sleeve, other devices work. I run with Bluetooth headphones they connect fine. Could this be the issue? Should I connect my Fitbit first? Also, today it connected for a short time. Approx 1 mile of a 5k run.

Hi, @JR.HU . Your phone should be OK, do check that battery saving has been disabled for the Fitbit app as you need the app to run constantly in the background. It depends on how old your Bluetooth headphones are, can you use them with a wired connection and the Bluetooth off (alternatively just don't use them as an experiment)
Let us know how you get on.

Support got back with me. They advised me to clear user data in settings. Seems to be working fine now.
