FItbit app is using the wrong Google Play Account w/ new Charge 5

Hi - I have a new Charge 5 and was trying to activate the 6 month premium trial from my Android phone. But the app defaults to my work Google account instead of my personal Google Play payment methods even though I am logged into the app with my personal Google account. 

 

Anyone know if there is a setting for this?

Apparently this is an issue for other apps as well when the app developer doesn't give you a choice of which account to use to pay. The suggested workaround I've found (from Google and others) is to remove the offending account from your phone, make the purchase (in this case, activate the trial) and then add the account back in. The problem with that is that removing my work account will affected a bunch of stuff even if only temporarily.

 

Sigh.
