Fitbit Charge 5 - Distance when tracking Bike on GPS is really inaccurate

Just been on an 18 mile bike ride. My fitbit charge 5 says I rode 14 miles! I know the 18 mile distance is correct as I measured it with my Garmin bike computer and have manually mapped the route with Strava.

How can the Fitbit Charge be so inaccurate!

Does anyone know if this is a common issue / going to be fixed etc?

There are a few reasons it may be like that:

 

1. GPS disconnected somewhere. See, whether the map looks correct.

 

2. Watch paused at some point. See if the total time of activity matches.

 

I'm not sure what else could possibly go wrong. These are issues I had with other Fitbit watches so as well they may be a culprits here.
