Fitbit Charge 5 Water Damage

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve had my charge 5 for about a year and a half now and I recently got it wet at a splash pad and had been careful around water with it so this was one of the first times it’s been exposed to water. When it first got wet it didn’t turn on but after it had dried off it wouldn’t sync to my phone. After a day or two it’s now completely disconnected from my phone and will only show the Fitbit logo on it but it’s unable to connect to my phone. Any advice on how to fix this?

Hi @Tyler211 -- I don't know what a spash pad is, but I managed to get my CH5 water damaged when I took it into a steam room (not recommended!). It may be permanently damaged, but there are at least two things to try. First, try restarting it using the charging cable:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times within 8 seconds, holding each press for about 1 second.
  3. Wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

If that doesn't work, try letting the battery go completely flat. That can take a while, maybe a week. Doing that partially brought mine back to life. In my case, immediately after the steam room incident I was just getting colors on the screen. But after leaving it off the charger I got it to boot up and show a normal screen. I never got it synced, but it might work for you. If it doesn't, contact support
