Fitbit Charge 5 band keeps falling off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've owned my Charge 5 almost 6 weeks. From the very first day, my Charge 5 has fallen off multiple times EVERY DAY. While I am fairly active, the most vigorous activity is riding my bike or walking. Like others have mentioned, it falls off while a sleeve is pulled over it and while Isleep. I wear my fitbit way more loose than I prefer.  I have do this to try to reduce contact between my wrist and the clips that hold the band on. IMO - those clips should not have any protruding lip/edge for your fingernail.  Any type of pressure against the skin, the raised lip causes it to unclasp and fall off. I'm almost ready to take it off. I'm afraid I'll loose it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@Jlees69 Welcome to the Fitbit community!

Sad to hear that you have issues with your Charge 5 falling off your wrist. Of course that shouldn't happen.

Assuming that you're using a genuine band by Fitbit and not a third party one, I'd suggest contacting Fitbit support to check whether or not your Charge 5 may be faulty.

This happened to me too, very frustrating. I contacted sopport bud mine is out of warranty. I hope yours is still in as they will replace it. They gave me a discount towards a new Fitbit so I am fine with that.

Same issue here, real shame as I had a Charge 4 previously and this *never* happened.

In my case, it's mostly the bottom band that detaches, for example when I stretch my left arm to reach my right shoulder blade.

A real shame; I'm waiting for someone to get in touch regarding a fix.

They got in touch with me within a couple of days. I think it is a manufacturing problem as it is only the one side that it happens on.
Hope you hear soon.

Well, I chased them today and a replacement Fitbit is being sent.

I just hope that it won't have the same issue as I'd rather not lose it.

It did click into place, on both sides of the tracker but always comes unstuck on the bottom of the pebble.

I'll see if the replacement is any better, and if not I'll just have to give up on Fitbit. Sadly.

Same here. I contacted C. Support.

The fella on the phone asked me to do a couple things:
1. He asked me snap the band on the tracker.
2. He asked me to now tug gently on both sides of the band. -- I did so.
He asked me - "did it stay on?"
I replied- yes it did, however, I'm not concerned whether the band stays on while I'm not wearing it (right?). He put me on a short hold. I'm still not sure the point of him asking me to do the tug thing. Anyway, he came back on and told me a new one was being sent and return label for the old unit.
Sorry so long, but wanted to share my experience thus far.

Glad to hear. I think it was a manufacturing problem that has since been fixed. I bought the new Inspire and really like it.

This is only affecting the Charge 5. Different models are not the same type oof connection to the tracker.
