Unable to use my earphones simultaneously

I am a new user of Fitbit charge 5 and since i started using i face this annoying issue where when i receive calls on my mobile and have both charge5 and bluetooth earphones connected, the earphones keep on disconnecting during the call frequently so that I cannot speak unless I disconnect my earphones and speak using my mobile. When i contacted customer support i was told this is a feature of charge 5. I dont understand how this is a feature and what use it might have. Its not like I can speak through my charge 5.
it’s getting soo annoying. I would not have gone for the device had i known this beforehand.

Hi, @Charge5HH , I am not 100% sure I understand your issue, but it is a feature of Bluetooth itself (not specifically of the Charge 5, but all Bluetooth devices) that only one device can be active at one time.  If your Fitbit alerts you to a phone call while you are wearing your earphones, then you should be able to answer it and communicate with the caller through your earphones.  (I have used this feature many times.) It sounds to me that it may be that your earphones are having difficulty maintaining connection with your phone and therefore the (single allowed) connection is switching away from your earphones and back to your phone (all the Charge 5 did was alert you to the call - as you say, you cannot talk through it) once answered the connection should be between your phone and your earphones, and I am guessing that’s where the problem lies.

My very knowledgeable friend and colleague @Rich_Laue may be able to confirm my understanding or offer further insights.

Hi @Charge5HH being that you have a charge 5, not a versa 4.

Does your headphones stay connected when receiving a text? How about when you tell the fitbit app to send a test call.

Personally i can't see a reason for this to happen with an android phone.

On android, we now have the option to assign which app will use which connected audio device
