Fitbit Charge 5 battery failure

My Fitbit Charge 5 battery failed after 5 months of original purchase from Amazon. Replacement from customer service filed 5 months from the delivery to me. Customer Service advised they cannot help since it is outside of original warranty of first failed charge 5.

Originally purchased August 2022 through Amazon, the charge 5 battery lost power rapidly and completely failed to hold any charge by January 2023. Customer service replaced the charge 5 arriving to me in February. That replacement failed by July. Contacting customer service again they told me this is not replaceable under warranty since it is only based on original item purchase date and not the replaced item after first failure.

I basically received the same set of faulty product until the original product warranty was expired and they didn't have to address the issue.

This post is after I contacted them again to elevate the case for consideration since the replacement was basically a lemon product that failed within less than 6 months. The chat agent cut off the chat without addressing my request for higher level review.

If Google marketing and customer support departments monitor this forum, what is your formal response to this situation and can you confirm that ALL FitBit Charge 5 models are defective from the factory? Are you allowing continued sale of the Charge 5 if so?

I have seen other customers with similar or same issues. I plan on providing the appropriate low-star review on Amazon to ensure customers see the issues with FitBit, the Customer Service, and this particular product.

Depending on who you got your device from when you bought it on Amazon, Google may not be able to help you.  Yes, there is a Fitbit store on Amazon and yes, you would be under warranty if you bought it from the official Fitbit store on Amazon.  However, there are also 3rd party resellers on Amazon and if you bought the device from one of them, you would have to abide by their policies.

Also, not all Charge 5's are defective, so no, they wouldn't release a statement like that.  I've had mine since release and haven't had any issues with it.
