Fitbit Charge 5 does not turn on

After update FitBit Charge 5 won't come on and shows no charging.

I would like to clarify. Do you mean the latest app update or do you mean firmware update? I also recommend you take a look at the tips in the following article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?. There are several scenarios, please give all tips a try. Thanks in advance!

Thanks. It turns out the Charge 5 is charging. There just is a blank
screen on the FitBit watch. The latest is that the status screen shows
nothing for sleep mode but when I click on it, the next screen has details
of sleep duration and sleep levels. The same for health metrics, nothing on
the first screen but details when going to the next screen.

I don't know the difference between app update and firmware update.
Whatever it is, a pop up tells me there is an update that I can run now or
it will update on its own schedule later.

Maybe time for a Charge 6,

Update to the Fitbit app would come from the Google Play or Apple app store, depending on your platform. The latest version is 4.08.

The firmware update for your Charge 5 would show up in the Fitbit app, under the device tile: Tap device icon in the upper left of the Today page and tap on the Charge 5 tile.
