Last night no sleep recorded.  Today recorded total steps but no heart rate.  Also did not record my hiurly 250 steps.  What gives?  Software problem or faulty device.  Have been using since Dec 25 and was working ok.

My heart rate stopped recording on Jan 3. No sleep record last night. What's up?

Hi, did you get any help? This just happened to me on 2/28/2022. No sleep, no heart rate, total steps >10,000 but only 1 hour of movement.

Mine stopped yesterday at 1230pm, same thing. I restarted as suggested, tracking steps now but heart rate monitor is reading WAY off

No help. Did reset a few times. Next day worked. However lost a day. Also no heart rates for that day.

Hi everyone, and welcome to all the new users in the Fitbit Community forums.

I appreciate all the information that you've provided so far about this problem with the Charge 5. It seems that some user have mentioned the device is not tracking steps, sleep or heart rate information.

If you haven't done so already, please try a three pulse restart and check if you continue to have the same problems afterwards:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

In addition, please try setting up your Charge 5 as a new device in the account if you're still having trouble. Keep in mind that there are some factors that may prevent your tracker from recording your sleep. Please make sure of the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device as described in this help article.
  • If you slept for less than 1 hour for sleep patterns or less than 3 hours for sleep stages.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Please wear your device on your non-dominant hand and monitor it for the next few days. In the meantime, for the nights that don't have sleep data, you can manually log your sleep by going to the Fitbit app, tapping on the "+" icon next to the sleep tile > Add Sleep Log and entering your details.

Regarding the problem with the heart rate as well, please follow the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information and check the information mentioned here about other factors that could affect your heart rate reading, this has been useful to other users who have experienced something similar.

I'll be around.
