Hi My Fitbit charge 5 stopped working. Not even 2 years old. Thought it just lost charge but I remember charging it a couple of days ago and even putting it in charger it doesn’t respond. Tried the reset and tried cleaning it but nothing works. I look after it clean it regularly. I need it very much to keep my eyes on my heart rate and temperature change while I am on chemotherapy. Please help.

Hi @AMCseh ! Welcome to the Community !
I appreciate your message, and I'm sorry to hear your Charge 5 stopped working.
Thank you for your troubleshooting efforts.
If your device's display won't turn on, the battery might need to be charged.
Could you please verify the steps shown in the following article ? Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Hi Mario,

I went through all the steps and followed them all. The cleaning the resetting, the charging options. I have tried different outlets and wall units and it was charging 2x for the whole night with no change.

Can you please see if I could get a replacement, I am really desperate! 😞

Hey. WOW you were lucky then. I started my Fitbit love 9 years ago with my  Charge HR then when it broke just after a year I received a charge2 then when that broke nearly a year later I had to buy a charge 3 then that broke and got a charge 4 then that broke and I bought a charge 5. I kept buying Fitbit because support asked a few questions and pictures and sent me a new Fitbit. Looks like I’m not that lucky anymore. 😢

That's what happened to mine a couple of weeks ago.  I managed to do a hard re-set and it started up again but then the battery issues that everyone else is describing happened.  I've had my Charge 5 for a year (Dec. 31,2023) and it was working perfectly until 2 wks ago.  All of a sudden the battery started depleting rapidly within hours. It goes from 100% charge to 0% in only a few hours. The sensors have stopped working now as well.  Up until this time, one charge would typically last 4-6 days. Nothing happened to my device. I am very careful with it and have never had any issues. I do not wear it in the shower or swimming or expose it to extreme temperatures. I tried all of the 'fixes' including restarting it, un-pairing and re-pairing it. Force stopping the app and resyncing it. Uninstalling the app and reinstalling. Restarting the device again. I even performed a factory reset.  Nothing works.  It's basically useless. No heart rate monitoring, no step monitoring, and less than a day's worth of battery.  I contacted Customer Support who said it is 1 year old and out of warranty so it is now trash and I just need to buy a new one.  No explanation for the global issue that all Charge 5 users are having right now.  Just an offer to spend more money on a new device (that might spontaneously die after a year as well?)  This is my first FitBit and I can't say I am excited to run out and buy another one after this experience.  My mom bought this for me as a birthday gift in December 2023. She has been a loyal FitBit customer for years.  She has never had one fail or malfunction before and is disappointed to hear that this is happening.  Prior to this, I had zero issues with it.  It worked perfectly.  Great battery life (4-6 days).  Reliable step and heart rate tracking.  Notifications from all my apps.  Now it's a glorified watch that dies within a day.  What a waste.  I just want my FitBit to work again.  I don't want to pay for a new one when this one was perfectly good!
