Fitbit Newbie - help with app notifications

Fitbit newbie here. Primarily using device as a smart watch (Charge 5). I seem to be having issues with getting my Charge 5 to give me notifications from Whatsapp. I've followed all instructions to "Notifications" in Settings, but I cant seem to find where I can instruct my device to give me a whatsapp notification, or where I can link my whatsapp acct to the fitbit acct. I have tried both from Device Settings and Fitbit Account settings on the computer.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I don't use notifications myself but have been trying to do a bit of research to try to find out how to do it.  If you're already doing this and it's not working for you, I'm sorry.

From the Today screen in the App on your phone tap your profile picture, then Charge 5.  From that screen tap on Notifications.  On that screen you should see: Calls, Text Messages and Calendar Events together.  A bit further down is App Notifications.  Tap on that and a list of Apps that could be added appear. 

On mine, I see WhatsApp Messenger as an option.  If you have it too, you can toggle it to On.  If it's not listed, there's a search box at the top you could use to look for it.

Also when you go back a screen, there's a blue link saying 'Learn more about notifications' and it gives pretty much all the advice you could need targeted to particular devices.

Thank you so much! You made it make sense and its all now working. I was confused cos there were various places in Settings (both on device and Account) where Notifications could be configured, but I didnt think to look directly in the Charge 5 itself to change the settings directly for the device. So I followed your instructions and found all the apps that I could select for notifications. Its working great now.
