I got my Fitbit less than a year ago and it has been working wonderfully up until now. All the sudden it won’t hold a charge. Not even for 30 seconds. I have charged it for several hours at a time and it gets up to 99% charged but as soon as I take it off the charger the screen turns black and won’t respond. When I put it back on the charger it says it’s at 1%. I’ve tried restarting it from the charger and nothing is working. Please help!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Libertyworceste.
Thank you for sharing all these details about the inconvenience you've been having with your Charge 5 and for confirming that you already tried restarting it.
I've been informed that you already contacted the Customer Support team for further assistance with this and it seems they've provided you with some instructions. In this case, they will let you know how to proceed.
Have a good day.

If your Fitbit won't charge properly, there are a number of things you can try to get it working again. Make sure the Fitbit's charging contacts are clean, dry, and seated properly in their charger. If possible, try to restart your Fitbit, or use a different charger

Will

I have the exact same problem. What is the solution?

I couldn’t find a solution other than what several other posters had recommended, which was to contact Fitbit customer support. I called in and explained that I had done all of the troubleshooting listed on the website, and they offered to send me a replacement Fitbit. It was fairly simple, they send you a quick form to fill out, and they will send you the same model for free. (You can also request a new model but only at a discount). Keep in mind that they do not send you new bands so don’t toss out your old bands.

@willjoe @iflores25 Thank your for taking the time to share your experience with this.
@Clacks71 There are some general recommendations that are usually helpful when users have any issues to charge the battery. However, if you already tried these steps, it would be necessary to continue the communication with the Customer Support team so they can let you know how to proceed.
I've proceeded to send your information to them, but I've been informed that you already got in touch with them and it seems they've provided you with more information.
Have a good day.

Thank you for this. I have been working on mine for two days now and have exhausted all suggestions from all over the web. I have the exact problem as the OP so will be contacting Support.
