Turning off mobile payments

I have a Charge 5 and I frequently get notifications (like >6 times a day) on my watch to turn on mobile pay. I have no interest in using this feature as I'm using the fitbit mostly to track my workouts and sleep. I've tried to disable mobile way so I wont get these distracting notifications. Any recommendations on how to make this stop?

@NoahCB Can you turn off the notifications in your Fitbit app?

@NoahCB Welcome to the Fitbit community!

To disable Fitbit Pay, please go to your web Fitbit Dashboard and log in to your Fitbit account:

Fitbit Dashboard

Now klick the gear icon in the top right corner and select Charge 5.

You'll see a list of settings for your Charge 5 afterwards. Below you'll find FITBIT PAY. Klick on that.

Now you can select Disable Fitbit Pay. Klick on that.

Finally, after having synchronized your Charge 5 with the Fitbit app on your phone, there should be no more asking for configuration of Fitbit Pay.

Hi, @NoahCB , what kind of notifications are you seeing? I believe the instructions provided by @Talahthas are to remove any cards you have set up on your account (for example if your Fitbit is lost or stolen).  I do not think that is relevant if you have not added any cards.

By default a down swipe on your Charge 5 will bring up the Fitbit Pay app, and it is not possible to change or remove this.  Tapping on the Fitbit Pay app brings a screen that says “Add card: go to the Fitbit app and add a card to the wallet”.

Is this the notification you are seeing?

It is possible that your sleeve brushing against the Fitbit is activating the Fitbit Pay app and then bringing up the message to add the card.  If this is what you are seeing there is no way to remove that app or change the order so that it comes lower down the menu level.

If this is what is happening in your case (and I can see no other reason for getting notifications about Fitbit Pay) then you may want to activate the “water lock” on your Charge 5.  The water lock has nothing to do with making your Fitbit more waterproof!  What it does is prevent the screen from being activated (for swimmers that would be from water splashing on it) - in cases such as I have described it would be from a sleeve brushing against it.

To turn the water lock on swipe down until you come to “water lock”. Tap once to open and then double tap (hard!) to toggle it on and off.

Apologies if I have misunderstood your question, but I have not seen any other sorts of notifications about Fitbit Pay on the Charge 5, but I do find it very easy accidentally to activate the app.

BTW, if you would like to see it possible to change the order of the apps on your Charge 5 (in your case to move Fitbit Pay app lower down the menu level, or even to remove it altogether, you may want to vote for this feature suggestion .

I hope this helps!
