HR on Charge 5 almost in reverse

Have had a Charge 5 for few days and have been getting very inaccurate readings.

 

I live at the top of a very steep hill I leave the house, walk down the hill and at the bottom it says my heart rate is 147! A couple of minutes later when it is showing my HR as 70 I set off back up the hill. My pulse steadily rises to about 130 half way up the hill and then, on the steepest part of the hill, it starts going down. At the top when I know my HR would normally be about 150 the Charge 5 says it is 93.

 

Have done the watch restart, and the USB restart, changes nothing

Is it worth getting it replaced or get a different tracker?

Thanks for your reply. I've spent another couple of hours experimenting with everything in those links and no joy. My old Charge 2 on the other wrist is far more accurate.

 

Replacement ordered from Amazon. Let's hope that this one works. Cheers!

In addition to the three pulse restart method you mentioned, please make sure to follow the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information and check the information mentioned here about other factors that could affect your heart rate reading.
