Hi,
I am thinking about buying a Charge 5, however, I have some difficulties with the Heart Rate display as it relates to my anxiety. I used to have the Charge 3 HR, however, I have issues with panic attacks and watching my heart rate creep up / having live data on my heart rate as it accelerated made them far worse to the point where I had to stop wearing the fitbit. I saw on a YouTube review that the heart rate setting can be turned off on the Charge 5, however, I was unsure how that would affect the tracking of my other stats (calories burned, sleep, etc.). I do not want to lose any accuracy there, so I was wondering if turning off the HR monitor would affect the tracking of other categories. Additionally, I tried to research if I could keep the HR monitor on, but remove the HR data from the clickthrough display so that I cant see it on the watch when I click to see my other stats. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @BD-15.
Thank you for sharing this inquiry about your Charge 5.
If you turn off your heart rate, you would still see your sleep information, but you won't see any sleep stages recorded. Regarding the calories tracked, Fitbit devices combine your basal metabolic rate or BMR (the rate at which you burn calories at rest to maintain vital body functions, including breathing, blood circulation, and heartbeat) and your activity data to estimate your calories burned. If your device tracks heart rate, your heart rate data is also included, but it's especially used to estimate calories burned during exercise.
Your BMR is based on the physical data you entered in to your Fitbit account (height, weight, sex, and age) and accounts for at least half the calories you burn in a day.
If you don't wish to turn heart rate off due to accuracy of data, you can try choosing a clock face option that won't show this information on the main display. I can see that almost all of the clock faces show heart rate information when you tap on the screen to see the other stats, even the analog clock options, and unfortunately it's not possible to customize what information is shown on the display. However I did notice the "Ice Cream" clock face doesn't show heart rate data on the screen, you can try changing to this clock face option to see if it works for you.
I would recommend that you post this idea (to remove heart rate for example) in the Feature Suggestion board of the Community, since this section is regularly monitored by the team of developers. Make sure to post your idea including as many details as possible.
Hope this helps, see you around in the Community.
