Heart rate variability suddenly changes

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My heart rate variability readings have varied a lot, but averaged around 70 and rarely above 110. In the past week, it has been 141, 140, 92, 141, 120, 139, 132, 141. Something is clearly off and changed. I'm a 53 y.o. male and in decent shape, but not an elite athlete and haven't really changed my routine--70 is already crazy high for a man my age and 140 is simply not believable. I'm thinking it is intrinsic to my device, since I haven't received the latest firmware update. Anyone else noticing something like this?

Good to see you back in the community @dz1234

Thanks for providing the details about this inconvenience with your Charge 5.

I recommend that you try restarting the device again using the three pulse restart method mentioned here below, instead of the restart option found on the Charge 5 itself:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Also, please follow the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information and check the information mentioned here about other factors that could affect your heart rate reading, this has been useful to other users who have experienced something similar.

I did one better--I did a full reset (for a different problem) and that didn't fix it.

It is still doing the same thing. This answer was not helpful.
