I was convinced this fitbit would be another piece of electronic waste but after hours i got the thing working again.
i have an android phone. i went into settings and went into clock faces, and tried to install a different face.
The system showed there were pending and failed installs I told it to try to continue to install the failed updates.
The updates went through I was then presented with an option to update the firmware , which I was able to do. 1st my phone would not communicate with the devices I had to use the 3 button trick several times to finally connect to it, I knew I was connected by being able to change or at least see the new clock face get pushed into the device, Once I could see proper communication the fitbit device was able to take in the new firmware update and function again.

Hello @Macho
When my Charge 5 started having rapid battery drain, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. This process eventually got my Charge 5 "unstuck" and the battery life went back to lasting 6-7 days. Although there's no guarantee that this will work, it might be worth a try.
