I am trying to change the sensitivity of my step counting. When I Google how to do it, it says go to advanced settings but I don't have that option in my app. I have been doing the Walk At Home videos that tell you how many steps you've done and mine have been off by 1000 ( I could see a few even 100 or 200) for two days now. I've had the Charge 5 for about 2 weeks but haven't paid closer attention until the other day. My Charge 4 was pretty spot on. Would like it to at least be in the ballpark since I use this with my Weight Watcher's program.

Hi @Cdvtee you using iOS or Android? You can only adjust the dominant hand, which changes the sensitivity.

Hello @Cdvtee
You can access Advanced Settings from your Dashboard on Fitbit.com.
Do you mean you want to change your stride length or height? You can do that there.
I hope that helps a bit.

Hello @Cdvtee
You can only access advanced settings from the Dashboard at Fitbit.com, it's not available in the App. You don't have to access the Dashboard from a computer and can do get it from opening a new window on your phone and typing in Fitbit Dashboard and signing in.
Once you're signed in to your Dashboard, tap the cog icon at the top right of the screen, then Settings, then scroll down on that screen to access Advanced Settings. From there you can edit your stride length. You can edit your height if necessary further up.
I hope that helps.

Thank you for your help, I found the dashboard. Unfortunately, that did not fix my problem.
When I'm working out with a video, the steps and/ or mileage is Waaay different than what it should be and I do keep the same pace as the video. For instance, Thursday evening I did a 57 minute, 4 mile Walk At Home video by Leslie Sansone and my FitBit only registered 2.8 miles. Do you have any suggestions of what i may be doing incorrectly?
I appreciate your time!!

@Cdvtee Fitbit is wrist based, so you need to move your arms. Are you doing that during that video workout?

Hello @Cdvtee
I just checked out the website for the videos you do and it seems like there’s lots of arm movements there!
How are you tracking the exercise? Are you using Auto-Recognize or a shortcut? It might be worth using a shortcut so you can Start and Stop your exercise and maybe edit, if you’re able to.
Maybe Workout would be a good choice rather than Walk as it looks a bit more active than just a walk.
If you need more help let us know.

Hello again @Cdvtee
Here’s how to set it up.
Go to the App on your phone. Tap your profile picture in the top left of the Today page, then Charge 5. Then go to Exercise Shortcuts near the bottom of the page, tap. There should be 6 loaded. Choose one you won’t use and swipe left to delete it.
Next, tap on +Exercise Shortcut and choose Workout. Sync your Charge 5 and make sure it turns up on your tracker under Exercise.
When you’re ready to start your next workout, tap Start and then Stop to end.
I hope that fixes your problem for you!
