How do I locate my lost Charge 5?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So I have not been able to find my FitBit for about a month now. However evidently, someone has and is actually using it. This is shown through the daily and weekly reports I am getting. Is there any idea how I might be able to contact this person and let them know that it's not theirs (which they should have figured out). My only clue is that they do a fair amount of cycling and walking as they often reach around 15k steps. Would really, really appreciate if anyone could give any tips or ideas on how I might be able to track the person down and retrieve the Fitbit. Another thing to point out is that they have also synced it with their phone.

Hi @Yinghan. When you go to your dashboard, is the Charge 5 still there? You can only sync one Fitbit to one account, so I'm not sure how they are able to sync using their own phone.

From what I've read in the past on the forums, this is something that needs to go to law enforcement. To be sure, I've asked a Fitbit Moderator to stop by to address this issue with you.

@Odyssey13 Thank you for your help.

@Yinghan , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 got lost.

Please keep in mind, that Fitbits can only be synced with a mobile device that is logged into the Fitbit app paired to the device. And needs to be in a range of 30 feet of the mobile device.
Have you checked that you don carry the Fitbit on a backpack or gym bag? Maybe with the movement of the bag steps are being recorded.

Have you read the tips here: What should I do if I lose my Fitbit device?

I wouldn't recommend to approach anyone, suspected of having your Charge 5 as nobody knows how a person is going to react.

Thank you very much for your reply! As Odyssey mentioned, the other party (if there is one) would not be able to sync with the Fitbit, and my 'dashboard' shows that there has been some sort of sync? However, when I open the app on the phone, it seems to say that it hasn't synced for over 8 days, could my phone be wrong, if not, why would the dashboard (on my laptop) show that it has synced? One last question, could it be possible the the sync on my laptop dashboard refers to my phone syncing as I have connected my phone to the Fitbit app. I have looked into one of my bags although admittedly not all of them which I of course will do. If I am successful I will notify you! Thanks again to both of you for your help.

@Yinghan , Thank you for your answer. In the Fitbit app, when you tap on the devices icon (upper left corner), you'll see the list of devices paired to your account.
There you can see when was the last time that the tracker synced.

It would be cool if the Fitbit Desktop would have an option similar to Apple's "Find My".
