How do I reset a Charge 5 without the charging cable?

My Charge 5 is stuck on the logo but I do not have the original charger (which has no rest button). How do I fix this before throwing it away and not buying a new one.  The battery loss on the recent Charge5 update is big.  Thanks.

Hi there, @Jefe18. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is stuck on the Fitbit logo and also having battery issues. I understand where your concern is coming from and how you must be feeling. We're here to help!

Did you try the recommendations provided by @Odyssey13

I assume if your Charge 5 is stuck on the Fitbit logo, you won't be able to complete any of the restart methods. With that being said, please try the following steps in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Charge 5 from your phone's Bluetooth and also make sure it's no longer connect to your Fitbit app.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Charge 5 again.

If you can't get started with your Charge 5, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Once you manage to get rid of the Fitbit logo and you're back on track,
I'd recommend to follow the recommendations listed in this article to improve or extend battery life.  There are a few features that would make the battery drain faster than usual, even in one day. Some of these features are:

  • Built-in GPS (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 4 days when using this feature regularly, or up to 5 hours if you use it continuously).
  • Always-on display (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 3 days when using this feature).
  • Tracking SpO2 (Fitbit points out in this article that you may have to charge your Fitbit device more often when collecting SpO2 data).

Hi - none of this worked. The Charge 5 is still in the logo stage despite multiple attempts at following the article's instructions. Is this planned obsolescence requiring me to buy another?! Frustrated in Peru.
