Welcome back to the Fitbit community, @GigiP6!
From what you've mentioned, I assume that you're using automatic step tracking on your Charge 5. To get more accurate results in step tracking Fitbit needs your body height and your stride length. Here's how to set your body height:
1.) On the Today tab tap your profile picture in the top left corner.
2.) Tap the tile with your name.
3.) Tap Personal.
4.) Tap the information you want to change and make your changes.
5.) Tap Save.

Hi, it's good to see you around in the community forums, @GigiP6.
In addition to the steps @Talahthas mentioned earlier to improve the accuracy of your steps, you can also complete a three pulse restart if you continue to have any problem with your data, and then check if the issue persists:
Thanks. but I've already re-started 3 separate times. This Charge 5 is not calculating time or steps correctly. I'm very disappointed since it's only 2 years old
