I have a charge 5 and know the spec says it’s water resistant. My question is will it be safe to wear whilst doing a water workout?

Yes, you can wear your Charge 5  while doing water workouts. You should however pay attention to some points while doing so:

 

Can I swim or shower with my Fitbit device?

I swim for hours every week with my charge 5. I have never had a problem with water resistance.
