Large GPS distance discrepancy between app and Fitbit Dashboard on PC

I noted this morning, after syncing my Charge 5, that the app on my Android phone shows a walking distance of 1.07 miles and the dashboard on the PC shows 1.72 miles (more accurate). 

How can I troubleshoot this discrepancy?
