I'm trying to figure out why my Charge 5 sometimes loses its GPS connection when it's set to phone mode. It seems to happen to me about once a week (running every other day.) It has gotten to the point that I also record using MapMyRun just so I know I have an accurate track of my distance and pace, and also to confirm that the issue isn't with my phone, an iPhone 13 mini.
I've confirmed that the FitBit app has always-on access to my location data, and I've restarted my FitBit multiple times. What else could be going on?
I used to depend on my FitBit's built-in GPS, but that was also having problems at just about the same frequency as this problem with phone-mode GPS. I know it's probably coincidental, but this similarity in failure rates does make me wonder if there's actually a deeper issue.

Hi, @DavyRocket , welcome, it sounds like something is intermittently interrupting your Bluetooth link between your phone & Charge 5. May suggest you review the settings in your Fitbit app on your phone? You do not mention the make or model of your phone, I am not familiar with iPhone settings but the following are the Android settings (you would need to look for similar functions in an iPhone)
From your phone settings>apps>Fitbit>permissions (allow all)>storage & cache (clear cache)>Mobile data & WiFi (allow background data & unrestricted data usage)>App battery usage (Unrestricted) - this is because some phone treats the Fitbit app as none essential and close it down to save battery.
I hope this helps.
Cheers
