Low battery notifications not working Charge 5

I have mobile and email selected in my settings so that I can receive notifications when my battery is low, but I never receive them. Thoughts? My Fitbit just dies without my knowledge and I randomly realize that it hasn't been tracking steps after running 😞 
I could check the battery constantly, but I try not to be glued to the step count.

Thanks for sharing this information about the inconvenience with your Charge 5 and the battery notification. 

If you haven't done so already, please try disabling this notification and then turn it back on to refresh the settings. Then sync your device again and let me know if you continue to have the same problem. If the issue persists, please try restarting your device as well using the charging cable.
