I hope I'm understanding your issue correctly. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like your heart rate sensor might not be working. To check, place your finger across the back of your Charge 5. When you lift your finger, you should see a green light. If you don't see a green light, that means your heart rate sensor isn't working and you should contact Fitbit support (<-- click link)
