Missing elevation gain

Hi,

I recently updated from the charge 4 to the charge 5. When I used the 4 it would track elevation gain using my phone gps (it wasn’t super accurate but I didn’t mind). This elevation gain would show both on the watch, as well as on the app. Now I have the 5 and have recorded a few hikes with it, but the elevation gain isn’t available on the watch or on the app afterwards. Did Fitbit get rid of that feature in the charge 5? How can I see the elevation gain like I used to? Thank you!

Sorry but the Charge 5 does not have an altimeter so it cannot track elevation gain or stairs climbed.  It is a hardware component so it could not be added by firmware update.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
