In recent days, about 6-7 days, my charge 5 that had hitherto been doing 7 days before recharging suddenly drains in less than 12 hrs

Hi, @CyprianOton I would recommend giving your Charge 5 a restart. Instructions are in this help article . A restart can fix many issues and in particular can shut down any background activities that may be causing unusual battery drain. You also may find it helpful to gently clean the battery contacts on the back of your Fitbit using a soft cloth (or q tip / cotton bud or similar) and some rubbing alcohol to ensure that it is getting a good charge.
As you are probably aware, as all rechargeable batteries age they do deteriorate, especially if they are allowed frequently to discharge completely, so ideally keep your battery above 20% charge as much as possible. Allowing it to die completely now and again won’t do significant damage, but if this happens regularly you will notice deterioration pretty quickly.
You may also find helpful this article which has tips on how to extend the battery life of your Fitbit.

Same issue here. Used to go about a week before needing to charge. It did a firmware update and now it won't last 12 hours. The firmware update turned this into a piece of garbage. They need to fix this or they will lose customers.

I have done all that and it's still not working. The fitbit is barely 8 months old. Also, I know the effect of deep discharging with any battery system. I have always made sure it does not drain completely.

It's obvious the bug is from their end. They need to fix it. There has been a surge in similar complaints.

Same here, the battery drained after several hours 100% full charging. It happened 3 days ago, my charge 5 is around 10 months. I have tried everything I can googled online, like restarted, factory reset, clean with alcohol wipe... But still the same problem...

Fitbit just has to do better, this is unacceptable on all front. What is the use of a smart watch that keeps going off?
