My experience with Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Judging by all of the posts, a lot of us started experiencing problems five days ago with the update. I have tried everything that's offered as a solution and nothing has worked. It will charge to 99%, want me to update, and suddenly I'm down to 3%. My screen is black and i can't get any notifications. I just hit five years with Fitbit and have been through at least that many devices. What does it say when you spend $150 on something that doesn't last a year or two? It is obviously a problem with the update. It's been five days and the only thing that has been accomplished in that time is my desire to move on. I have really loved my Fitbit, but I'm done. Enough is enough!

I agree - they have had enough chances with me too.

Hi there, @AngMy. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 has been acting odd lately. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

As per the description of your posts, it sounds like your Charge 5 has not completed the firmware update. With that being said, please make sure you've followed all troubleshooting steps provided here Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

On a side note, please note that our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy  is set into providing as much coverage as we can. For more information about our warranty, see fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty

@AM777 Thanks for stopping by! I'm sorry to hear that you've been having issues with your Charge 5. Are you currently having issues with your Fitbit device? Did you try any troubleshooting steps?

After almost 2 years, mine has done the same thing, and I have done all the required and recommended fixes. It is still dark and will not come back on. So I went to my Fitbit, two of which I stopped wearing because I cannot get the screen to illuminate. It was less than two years old. And it stopped. I have been Fitbit customer since 2018. So 6 years and 4 different Fitbits. I think I’ll find something else.

I have tried everything! I'm often prompted numerous times a day to update, which I do, and I still have no screen on my device. Now it won't sync at all, won't track any movement, and has literally been this way for days. My device vibrates (sometimes) when I try to reset it, but it doesn't change anything. It hasn't worked properly in over a week, ever since I started getting prompted repeatedly to update daily.
