I just got off a call with support and they said mine will also have to be replaced and fortunately is on warranty (I am aware that there is a long wait). Can you confirm if your new Charge 5 works fine with the latest firmware update? I am worried that I will get a new device that will then have all the same issues again...
EDIT: They emailed me afterwards and decided not to honor my warranty. Gave no reason for this. Not even an offer for a discount. Anyone else experience this?

I’m finding it pretty much the same, apart from the fact my new works. Enjoy

My "replacement" arrived last week instead of the end of this month. It was model FB243 instead of FB241. I'm a little concerned because when I charge it, it gets stuck at 99% and I have to reset it (pressing the button 3 times) in order for it to get to 100%. It's still at the 188.58 firmware.

Thanks for reporting back, @GaetanoVB!
I'd like to point out that it's quite common that this last percent of charging is taking forever. I don't want to go into too much detail, but what's happening, often is called 'tickle charging'. What happens is that the charging current is drastically reduced to not stress the battery overly.
If you want to maximize overall battery life, keep it charging between 15 and 85 percent as a rule of thumb.
This btw goes for any device that is operated by a lithium battery as long as the battery is not cooled while charging.
