New Charge 5 Reminder to Move Not Working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello.  Receive new Charge 5 three days ago to replace my Charge 3 that died (after 3 years).  Really like the new display on the C5.  When the C5 was set-up in the Fitbit app on iPhone 7, it downloaded a new firmware update.  Set-up was easy.

All seems to be working except the Reminders to Move (RM).  Syncing fine; counting steps fine; heart rate measurements fine; DNR Off; Sleep Off; soft reset done; 3-pulse reset produced the Fitbit log.  Still no RM.  I have received the vibration when meeting my goal for # steps for the day.  Once I received a double-vibration when meeting a 250/step goal in a given hour so it would appear the vibrator is working.

I really need to the RM to work.  I don't see many posts on this subject so it must be something in my setup but have been run out of places to look.  Please help!

Hello @engineercm

Lets make sure your reminder to move is set up. Open your Fitbit App then scroll down to your Hours Steps 250 tile and tap it. Look to the upper right corner and you will see a gear wheel. Tap that gear wheel. Make sure reminder to move is enabled. If it’s not on enable it and sync your tracker. If it is already enabled turn it off, sync your tracker then turn it back on and again sync your tracker.
😃 I hope this gives you the best answer for your question. Please let me know

It stopped working with the last app update. I keep getting it set to “Disabled” which isn’t a selectable option. They don’t seem to be bothered about fixing it, just keep telling me to try things I’ve already tried and told them I’ve tried.

Hi MegaBite.

First, the RM function is working.  The RM button had been ON.

Second, before I did the OFF-ON-SYNC, I went to the Notifications tab and turned ON "Calls", "Text Messages", and "Calendar Events".  I had turned them OFF as I didn't want these notifications going to the Charge 5.  Shortly thereafter I felt the RM buzz which, if my memory serves me, is not as "strong" as with my Charge 3.  There must be something relating the RM to the other alerts.

Same here... I have done everything they have said to do (reset, turn off/ on, sync, turn off DND/ Quiet Mode, etc. etc.) and it still will randomly set RM to Disabled... it's obviously an issue since I see so many posts about it (and I'm replying almost a year later, so it's still happening!)

This happened every 3 days when zI had the Fitbit Sense. Randomly tried things and it would work for 3 days. That was the best part of the Sense. Charge 5 randomly Sync’s VERY slow. Reboot everything. Today the RTM stopped. It’s happened randomly before, but today I’ve watched it and it’s every hour. Tried all the usuals and nothing.

All day, no reminders. Didn’t do anything to fix in the last few hours and it automagically started working. No idea what fixed it.

I have the same problem and all I get are the usual simplistic answers, like, turn on notifications. DUH!
