New syncing weirdness- delay

This morning I looked on waking and app said it couldn’t sync repeatedly. This went on for about an hour. Then I looked at my Charge 5 settings and it said the last sync was 7:30am yesterday. I knew that wasn’t correct because it had been displaying updates all day. 

I looked at yesterday’s display and saw it had indeed reported everything. I then went back to today’s display and suddenly everything was there and last sync was a few minutes ago.

 

But now it’s still telling me it can’t sync when I attempt a manual trigger.

Hi, I appreciate all the information that you've shared about the difficulty you're experiencing with your Charge 5, @BettyW.

 

That seems a bit strange, if you haven't done so already, I recommend that you try restarting the device using the three pulse restart method described here below: 

 

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

In addition to the restart, please try these addition steps that are usually helpful with syncing problems:

 

  1. Turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on.
  2. Make sure that you already tried all the steps listed here to resolve syncing problems.
  3. Check the compatibility requirements listed here.
  4. keep the Fitbit app updated to the latest version available.
