Not keeping charge

The last 2 days my Fitbit Charge 5 is not holding its charge. I just recharged it and 3 hours later it is down to 66%. Any ideas why this would suddenly start happening without me changing any of the settings. I only bought it 8 months ago

A number of us experienced sudden loss of battery after updating to the latest firmware.

I suggest that you contact Fitbit support. They will walk you through a series of troubleshooting procedures. Once they confirm that none of the procedures returns your device to normal operation and it's still under warranty, they should send you an offer to replace the tracker/pebble or a discount on a different Fitbit. Note: the discount is on the full price even if the device is on sale in the Fitbit store.

My replacement Charge 5 is working fine and is back to lasting 6-7 days between charges.
