Notifications are not working properly on Charge 5

Wow.  Just coming to this forum to post this issue shows me I probably made the wrong choice with this Charge 5.  Based upon our prior experiences with the Flex, and now what I'm reading here (and my experience so far), its hard to believe that FitBit is still in business!

My main issue was already asked here 8 months ago without a single reply:

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-5/Charge-5-Emoji-quick-reply-not-available/td-p/5223492

My husband just setup a brand new Charge 5.  Updated it, configured it, literally totally new.  He tested sending me texts over Android Messages and Facebook Messenger after setting up notifications and they worked, he had the option to reply to both using Quick Reply text AND emojis.

After he finished testing this, he put it on my wrist and showed me how to use it and then he sent some more messages.  There was no longer an option to reply with emojis.  He restarted the watch and send another message (actually like half a dozen messages, because it wasn't actually sending notifications).  When one finally got through, I went in and the Emoji reply was back, but then I swiped away and when I went back into the message a moment later to reply the Emoji option was missing again!

He's an IT guy, so answers like "reboot", "reset the device" (it was just configured brand new)!, "make sure you Bluetooth is on", etc, are not going to be helpful.  Is there any hope for this thing working as advertised?

He told me to try it out for a few weeks, but my guess is that it will be going back to Amazon with a highly negative review and we will pay for the Pixel watch instead (as my primary need is the heart tracking).

Never mind.

For the extra $200, I hope the Pixel emoji watch quick reply is more consistent for you.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

So if I understand correctly, your primary need is heart rate tracking, but you will pay an extra $200 for the Pixel watch because the Charge 5 quick reply emoji option seems to be intermittent.

Cost is irrelevant.  $400 or $150 dollars.  If the device doesn't do what it is advertised to do, then the company shouldn't be selling it with those features.

In any event, the statement that I would move to the Pixel watch instead is because there are not a lot of devices that do EKG and AFib monitoring.  Besides the Apple and Samsung watches (which are really only good for those with corresponding phones), the Pixel and the Fitbit are some of the only games in town.  In fact, the Pixel at ~$400 is a hundred or more cheaper than some of the only other phones that offer this (like Garmin and a few niche models).

I'll still await a response that actually addresses the problem rather than deflects from it.
