Notifications not appearing on my Fitbit Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I noticed that after a recent system update to my Android phone, I no longer receive notifications on my Fitbit Charge 5 from my selected apps. I checked the app and it appears to be up to date and the apps I want sent to my Fitbit are still selected, but when I'm in the notification settings it says:

Notification services not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker

I've restarted my phone several times trying to get this to work again, but alas I only get this same message. It was working just fine before the system update, so I'm not sure what happened or how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Have you cleared the app cache?  That's what I did last time I got that message and it worked for me.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @ElusiveZatchmo .

Thank you for the information provided regarding the inconvenience you found with your Charge 5.

Before considering other options, please make sure that you've tried the steps listed in this article, as they have been helpful for other users experiencing something similar, and you can also try to disabling the notifications completely and setting them up again.

In addition, please check that the Do Not Disturb Mode and the Sleep Mode options are not activated, as they prevent the watch from vibrating and receiving notifications. If you're still having the same problem, other users have also found the steps below helpful:

  1. On your phone, open the Settings app then Apps and notifications then Apps.
  2. Tap Fitbit then Battery.
  3. Turn off the Power-intensive prompt option.
  4. Tap Launch.
  5. Turn off the Manage automatically option, and turn on the Auto-launch, Secondary launch, and Run in background options.
  6. Tap OK.

So clearing the app cache hadn't working for me. I ended up clearing the app data as whole and starting the app over and that seemed to clear up whatever was being an issue when I logged back in.

So I went ahead and tried as you suggested and even restarted my phone
again after clearing the app cache for good measure, but I'm still getting
that message and app notifications are not reaching my Fitbit 😕
