Readiness score confusing

The way the description is written has me a bit confused. Below it says prioritize recovery with a low score and with a high score take it easy. That seems like the same thing? How are you interpreting? Thanks for the help.

  • Activity: Your level of fitness fatigue, which is based on your heart-rate data for the past 14 days. High fitness fatigue means you should take it easy, while low fitness fatigue means you should prioritize recovery. Note that only activities that raise your heart rate to fat burn, cardio, or peak heart-rate zones impact your score.

It was confusing to me at first as well, @Tpboston.  Then I read more about what the score means: a lower score means that you should focus on resting that day rather than exercise.  A high score means that your body is ready to exercise.

I've been getting messages where the high scores (>60) means that I'm in fine physical shape and can do very energetic things.  The only day it was lower was the day I went for a 5 mile run, despite walking or running several miles on every other day.  A lot of it seems to be dependent on the amount of sleep you get, so if you have a good night's sleep, even if you were very active the previous day, you'll get a good score, so I got a sleep score of 87 last night and a daily readiness score of 94 this morning.

The thing that amuses me somewhat is that the daily recommended AZMs is 22 but because of my DRS being high, the app is generally suggesting at least an hour of AZMs per day.  That could get tiring after a while.

Yea it confuses me too.  I know I slept well last night but the Readiness thing stated I didn't.  I compared it with my Apple Watch so I don't know.  Seems to be buggy and flawed to me.
