Readiness score stopped working on Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am a premium member and have been since I purchased my Fitbit charge 5. I have been wearing my Fitbit continuously while asleep for over a year now—every night.

The readiness score was working until recently when I updated the app on my phone.  After the update, I now just get "No score".  Today I tried updating the firmware on the watch to see if that helped.  According to the description of the update, I am now supposed to be able to see my readiness on the watch too.   I do not have a screen on the phone that shows the readiness and the app still says "No score"  I have rebooted the watch to see if that helped.  It did not.

I have also cleared the cache for the fitbit app.  This has not helped.

I recently paid for my premium subscription renewal. This feature is now available to non-premium members and I don't have it as a premium member. Please help me get back the feature that I loved and used the most and why I bought the watch in the first place.

Hello @RosemarieTippin

I saw a Moderator post from today (14 Oct 2024) that said the updated Readiness score feature is still rolling out to users.

When it rolls out to you, the updated readiness score algorithm will use your data to re-calibrate & recalculate your score.

This help page explains what changed in the Readiness score (<-- click link)

Hi RieoC,

Thank you for your reply, I am still confused though.

The article you linked says that all I need to do is update to the latest version and wear the Fitbit. I did the updates and have still been wearing the watch. There is still no score on the phone and no screen on the watch that shows readiness. I am running the version 4.27 on my phone.

Does this mean that when it does roll out to me I will need to do an update again?

How will I know when I have the feature rolled out to me?

Do I need to just wait and then one day it will just start working again or is there some action I will need to take?

There has been no score since Friday 11th.  This was something I was using every day.  It would be nice to know a bit of a timeline.

Hello @RosemarieTippin

To be honest, I'm a bit confused about the Readiness score rollout myself. I would have thought that the Readiness score would still use the old algorithm until the new one rolls out to a user. Based on what I've been reading, it doesn't seem like that this is the case.

I got another update today (18 Oct 2024) for the Android Fitbit app, version 4.28. It looks like there's an app update for iOS, as well. You might want to check the app store and see if you have an update to install.

If you're still not seeing the Readiness score after installing the app update, please let us know so we can follow up.

Hi Rieko,

I just now checked both the Play Store and the app for software and firmware updates and both say that my phone and watch are up to date.  Still no readiness score.  Not sure what else to do.   If you know how I should follow up on this now, I would appreciate the assistance.

Regards

Rosemarie

Hello @RosemarieTippin

Other than the Moderator posts mentioning that the Readiness score is still rolling out to users, I haven't seen any other updates.

I'm going to see if I can get some clarification about the Readiness score rollout and will report back.

Hi Rosemarie

I am in the same situation. I have been a premium user for a number of years and I've had trouble with the readiness score for the last few months. I chatted to Fitbit support and was told to update the app, which I did - there were in fact two updates within a week. This restored my readiness score for about a week and since then its been intermittent. Strangely I am able to access some past scores which were not accessible on the day. Retrospective readiness scores not very useful!!! Another odd thing is that the app is not updating automatically and I can't see that an update is there unless I go into the listing in the app store. I don't get any notifications at all. With all the not very helpful 'improvements over the last year I am looking seriously at an apple watch when my charge 5 dies. Not getting what I'm paying for so will also be putting in a complaint about that. It's not meeting requirements of Australian Consumer law I think.

I have the same issue, I have done everything- with no change. It stopped over a week ago and still no reading.

Yes, I was wondering how far to take the complaint, because I agree, we are not getting what we paid for. (and I only just paid the renewal 2 weeks before this happened).  I am trying to be patient currently but am becoming frustrated.  Historical readiness scores are not at all useful.   They are only useful on the day.

Jenny,

That is great to hear.   Did you do anything to get it to happen?  Did you do an upgrade or anything like that?

And today - no score again!!
I did all the expected things: made sure I had the latest updates, reset the Fitbit, turned everything off and on again, tightened the strap etc etc! I don’t know what’s going on.
