Replacement received what now?

Received my warranty replacement and have questions about the risk of allowing the firmware to upgrade. Charge 5 as received flashed with 182.26 and working as it should.

How do you determine what version is promoted to load? Is it incremental or the latest version?

Is there a version report available documenting what the updates corrected/added to understand the benefit of accepting the latest update(s)?

Can you shut the updates off?

Hello @Mad_Merckx

You'll know if you have a firmware update from the Fitbit app when you look at the Account page (tap on your picture/icon in the upper left of the Today page). As far as I know, it's not an update that installs automatically. You need to manually click on the firmware update to install it.

I have not seen a version report documenting the firmware changes, although I'm sure it exists somewhere.

I don't think you can shut off firmware updates. However, since they are not automatic, you have control as to when and if they are installed.

Thanks,
This version is working fine for me so I’ll continue to reject the update and await a positive resolution to the ongoing issues.

You should update ASAP. If you wait too long and the update kills it, it will no longer be covered under warranty. The warranty period starts with the original purchase date, not the replacement date (unless you bought the replacement).
