Hi
My Charge 5 screen started to dim after I got into the shower with it on. It was only under water for a few seconds before I realised and took it off. The next day the screen stopped working completely. I have tried all the other troubleshooting steps in the forum, I have reset using the button on the charger, I have changed the clock face in the app and I have synced using the app. The device is still active its just the screen has completely failed. Is there anything else I can try?

Hi there, @ChrisCharleston. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Charge 5 is still not responding. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
If your device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.
Have you tried charging your Charge 5? Please note that sometimes a Fitbit doesn’t seem to be charging when actually the issue is that it has become unresponsive (this can happen if the battery has been allowed to discharge completely). I'd recommend putting it on to charge on a charging wire and outlet known to be working. Leave it on the charger for a good two hours, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging.
When it has had two hours, try restarting your Charge 5 once again, I would recommend trying this maybe twice in a row if a first try doesn’t work.
If the above doesn't work, please see Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

It's most likely not truly a water issue, as a lot of us have had the Charge 5 for years as regular swimmers. I for one pretty much never took it off except to charge it and for the occasional sanitizing. If you look around the support forum you'll note that a lot of people are having similar issues regardless of exposure to water.

Thanks Darth. It's my birthday next week and I have a feeling that because of this there is a Charge 6 waiting for me but it's just annoying that it's happened at all. It literally went all at once after it had been under the shower for 5 seconds so I presumed they were related
