I think my Charge 5 is about two-years old and I have noticed over the years that when I would walk a mile, the distance covered on the Fitbit would usually be about 0.5 miles short.
The other day, I did two miles on the treadmill. But my watch gave me credit for 1.65. And I never touched the bar with my fitbit hand the entire time.
Maybe it's me being **ahem** in terms of my daily goals. (Seven miles per day and sometimes it is a stretch to get there).
Averaging between 3.5 and 3.6 mph, that takes me about six minutes. I want those six minutes of my life back.
Also, it seems the faster the pace -- either on the treadmill, trail or street -- the less accurate distance reading I get.
Anyway, just venting. Although a response to how to increase accuracy would be appreciated.

Hello @rink23
Have you had a chance to check your personal data in the Fitbit app and confirm that your height, age, and other personal info are correct?
Also, you might check your stride length. The Fitbit app defaults to automatic stride length. Replacing the automatic stride length with your calculated stride length should improve the accuracy. This help page (<-- click) has the instructions on how to determine your stride length.
