I cycle 3-4 times a week using a Garmin heart rate chest strap. I just purchased a Fitbit Charge 5. Does it make sense to wear both while cycle training? For now I remove the Fitbit when I train but wondering if there’s an advantage to keep both, or if the two devices would clash.

Devices won't clash. Both devices will work separately (there is no way to pair straps with Fitbit devices) and will provide two separate sets of data. Whether there is any advantage of that it's rather an individual thing and only you can tell.

I would add that by taking you Fitbit off when you cycle, that is preventing you from getting credit for extra calories burned and Zone Minutes in Fitbit daily totals, if you care about them.

Thanks!
I used the Charge 5 and my Garmin chest strap during a 1 hour medium intensity indoor cycling session yesterday. Both recorded the same HR, but totally different calories burned, with the Charge 5 recording 860 calories burned and the Garmin strap 341. I expected a difference but not that much. I trust the Garmin strap reading. I don’t know how the Charge 5 made its calculation but it’s way off.
